Blossoming Intentions Ritual

Materials Needed:

  1. soil or potting mix

  2. Flower seeds or seedlings

  3. Halved eggshells for seed starters

  4. A small watering can or cup of water

  5. Tea light candles or LED candles

  6. Ostara Altar decorations (flowers, greenery, symbols of fertility)

  7. pens or markers

  8. Snacks and beverages (optional)

  9. Spring-themed or Ostara story(optional)

Instructions:

  1. Gather your family in a circle: Find a comfortable space where you can sit together as a family. Light your candles(decorated intention candles from Imbolc), prepare your space, and take a moment to center yourselves by taking a few deep breaths together, focusing on the rhythm of your breath and the connection to the earth beneath you.

  2. Invoke the elements: Cast a circle and all upon the elements or deities to bless your ritual and bring balance and harmony to your space(if this is part of your practice).

  3. Reflection on Yule Intentions: Begin by reflecting as a family on the intentions or goals you set during Yule. Discuss how these intentions have evolved or manifested over the past few months. Share any progress or insights gained. During the conversation, select an eggshell half and gently write or draw your intentions on the outside of the shell, then fill with soil.

  4. Planting Seeds of Intention: Each family member takes turns selecting seeds to plant, holding them for a few moments to infuse them with their intentions. As you plant, visualize your intentions taking root and growing strong. Plant the seeds in the soil, symbolizing the nurturing of your intentions and the potential for growth and abundance.

  5. Blessing the seeds: Sprinkle water over the newly planted seeds, symbolizing the nourishment and care they will receive as they grow. Offer words of blessing or encouragement to the seeds, expressing your gratitude for the abundance and beauty they will bring to your lives.

  6. Closing the circle: As a family, join hands and take a moment to appreciate the energy and love you've shared during the ritual. Offer thanks to the elements, the earth, and any deities or spirits you may have invoked. Blow out your candles or extinguish your LED candles to signify the end of the ritual.

  7. Optional: Sharing a feast: After the ritual, gather around a table and share a snack or meal together, celebrating the blessings of spring and the abundance of the earth. While together, read a spring-themed or Ostara story.

  8. Nurturing Your Intentions: In the days and weeks following the ritual, tend to your planted seeds with care, watering them regularly and offering them love and attention. As the seeds sprout and grow, reflect on the ways in which your intentions are manifesting in your lives.
