Elemental Exploration: Air

Finally, an Element and season pairing I like! Both, spring and the Element Air, are about new beginnings, growth, and creativity. As the days get warmer we are drawn to be more social, mirroring the communication aspect of Air. Even if, seasonally speaking, it doesnt quite feel like spring yet you can still tap into that energy through the use of Air magick.

Air Element Magic Symbol

The Air Element symbolizes intellect, communication, and the unseen realm of thought and imagination. When working with Air energy, practitioners often seek to harness its qualities of clarity, inspiration, and swift movement. Air is associated with the East, representing the mind and new beginnings. Those who delve into Air magic may call upon it to aid in matters of intellect, communication, travel, and mental clarity. Air opens pathways to new insights and perspectives, and building momentum for moving forward toward enlightenment and transformation.

Air Element Spell

Materials:

  1. Three or more ribbons in colors representing the air element or your intentions

  2. A quiet outdoor space or a well-ventilated area indoors

  3. Markers pens

Instructions:

  1. Begin by purifying the space using incense or sage, allowing the smoke to cleanse the area and prepare it for ritual work.

  2. Stand in the center of your chosen space and take a few deep breaths, focusing on the element of air and its qualities of new beginnings.

  3. Use the markers or other art supplies to write your intentions on the ribbons.

  4. Weave or braid the ribbons together visualizing your intentions or seek them aloud. Once you have completed the weaving, tie them to a tree.

  5. Spend a few moments meditating and feeling the energy of the air element swirling around you. Visualize your intentions being released into the universe every time the wind blows.

  6. Close the ritual with a word of gratitude to the element of air and any other deities or spirits you may have invoked.
