Family Unity Ritual

Family Unity Ritual

Materials needed:

  • Sage or rosemary for purification

  • Fire safe dish

  • Ribbons

  • Markers

Instructions:

  1. Set up a sacred space in a comfortable spot outside near a tree or bush.

  2. Lead the children in a short walk around the chosen outdoor space. Encourage them to collect small natural treasures like flowers, leaves, and stones.

  3. Take a moment to cleanse the space by wafting the smoke of the herb around the area.

  4. Once everyone has gathered their treasures, form a circle with the children. You can use stones or flowers to mark the perimeter of the circle.

  5. Begin with a simple opening blessing or invocation. You might say something like, "On this beautiful day, we gather to celebrate the coming of summer and the abundance of nature. May our hearts be open to the blessings of Beltane."

  6. As a family, hold hands and focus on your shared intention of strengthening your family bond. Invite each child to think about something they would like to nurture or grow in their lives . It could be a personal quality, a goal, or as a family.

  7. Have them write or draw their intention on pieces of ribbon.

  8. When everyone is finished tie the ribbons onto a tree or bush. As the ribbons blow in the breeze visualize your intentions being carried out into the universe.

  9. Finally, you can share a simple feast with the children and share stories about the Beltane season. This could be something as simple as fruit, cookies, or juice. This is also a good time to dance, sing, or play.

  10. Remind the children to leave the outdoor space as they found it, picking up any trash and returning natural items to where they were found.

Remember to keep the ritual light, fun, and age-appropriate. The most important thing is to create a sense of wonder and connection with nature, fostering a love for the Earth and its cycles. Feel free to adapt this spell to suit your family’s needs and beliefs.

Blessed Beltane to you and your loved ones!
